Middle School

Middle School Faith Formation

All 7th and 8th grade youth are invited to participate in Middle School Faith Formation together. Middle School Faith Formation will provide a safe, fun opportunity for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.

2023-2024 Calendars

Middle School Sunday Evening

Middle School Wednesday Evening

Middle school students are invited to come to HMC for one hour on 2-3 Sunday evenings per month. Our sessions will consist of a fun activity, a prayer opportunity, and small group discussion.

We are offering the 7th and 8th grade program on two different nights at two different parishes, Sundays at HMC and Wednesdays at St. Ann in Stoughton. Parents can choose the date/time/location that works better for their family.

Our students will watch a video lesson at home BEFORE coming to the session for the fun activity, prayer opportunity, and small group discussion. We also offer a home study option.

Here are just some of the reasons why we use the video lesson format:

  • Watching the video lessons before coming for the activity, prayer, and discussion helps our students focus and reflect on the topic, which leads to more meaningful and inspiring small group discussion and prayer time.
  • Recording the lesson beforehand helps us welcome more guest speakers to share their personal stories and reflections with us at a time that is convenient for them.
  • Viewing the video lessons at home allows parents and students to watch it together, which leads to many great conversations among your families.
  • The home study option is available for 7th and 8th grade students. If a student has to miss class for some reason or if they are participating in the home study program, they will still be receiving the same curriculum as the students who are present at HMC/St. Ann if they watch that week’s video lesson.

SHINE

Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father. (Matthew 5:16)

Students entering 7th-9th grade are invited to participate in SHINE in the summer! SHINE will happen at Holy Mother of Consolation and around the Oregon area and involves service, fun, prayer, and community!

Participants will spend the day/evening doing a variety of activities, but we will go home to sleep each night.

SHINE participants:

  • help members of our surrounding communities through many different service projects
  • make wonderful connections with other middle school students/adult chaperones from our parish
  • play fun games together
  • eat delicious meals together
  • pray together
  • be inspired by high school students from our parish who will be serving as the leadership team—they will be giving talks, leading the games, helping at the service sites, etc!
  • receive and share God’s love in many beautiful ways
